Quinceañera Celebration in Austin

Two artists spent three hours at a private home in Austin on May 2, 2026, sketching guests at a quinceañera. There were 60 guests, and in the Runway style, the 5x7 inch format where each artist draws about twelve guests an hour, the pair finished 72 portraits by the end of the evening.

The guest list was family, friends, and the dancers who performed during the celebration. Before the drawing started, the family made sure every important relative was on the list, so the people who mattered most all went home with a portrait.

Nobody left the dance floor for it. Our host took a quick photo of each guest, about twenty seconds, and the guest went back to the party. The artists drew from those photos, and each guest got a text when their sketch was ready to pick up at the table, signed and in a protective sleeve.
