Shop Event at Saks Fifth Avenue, New York

The beauty and cosmetics floor at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York ran a shop event on April 11, 2026, with live fashion sketching as the incentive. Shoppers who reached a purchase minimum had a quick photo taken by our host and carried on shopping while the artist drew from it, or could bring a photo and have their dog drawn instead, an option some took.

Two artists worked in the Runway style for five hours on 5x7 paper. As the afternoon went on, associates from other departments sent their clients over as well, and the artists also drew a number of the store's own staff, who were as pleased with the results as the customers.

The sketches gave a beauty purchase a second keepsake to go with it, and the dog portraits turned out to be one of the more talked-about things on the floor that day.
